A dedication by the IOC President on my portrait below.
Pour moi-même suivront quatre mois d’isolement, de cauchemar et de pourquoi jour et nuit, licencié un vendredi soir comme trois autres collaborateurs et une trentaine au total, sans raison autre que détruire une ambiance fantastique de toute l’équipe du Musée.
For me, this was followed by four months of isolation, a living nightmare and constant questioning day and night, having been made redundant on a Friday evening along with three other colleagues – and around thirty in total – for no other reason than to destroy the fantastic atmosphere within the entire museum team.
A ma demande le Président du CIO, J.A.Samaranch me recevra plus tard, j’étais le seul pour qui la porte s’est ouverte, me dire froidement sans autre explication Vous avez une famille, votre devoir est de trouver du travail.
At my request, the IOC President, J.A. Samaranch, received me later; I was the only one for whom the door was opened, and he told me coldly, without further explanation: ‘You have a family; it is your duty to find work.’
Sans conclusion autre ici que le soutien personnel chaleureux que m’a accordé le Directeur Général du CIO, Maître Carrard. l’admiration d’un homme brillant, sincère, humaniste et réaliste engagé, décédé aujourd’hui. Ceci dit pour témoigner à sa famille mes remerciements du fond du coeur de sa confiance au fidèle photographe.
There is no other conclusion here than the warm personal support I received from the Director General of the IOC, Maître Carrard – the admiration of a brilliant, sincere, humanist and committed realist, who has now passed away. I say this to express my heartfelt thanks to his family for the trust they placed in their loyal photographer.
