Καλημέρα, Bonjour, Hello by stramatakis

OFFICIAL IOC PHOTOGRAPHER FROM 1988 TO 1997
Being the IOC photographer meant I had to attend all the important meetings of the Committee, the Museum and the Olympic Movement, executive committee meetings, and the Session, which once a year brought together all the members of the Olympic family from around the world.
I had to be ready to pack my suitcase and equipment for two to three months of the year, and respond immediately to requests from the IOC President and the Olympic Museum.
The IOC placed its trust in me, especially in this individual role as the sole photographer for official meetings with queens, princesses, princes, kings or emperors (such as the Emperor of Japan), alone among the photo teams of these dignitaries who had to plan and set up a real studio for each official event. An official suit with the Olympic rings and a tie were enough for me, with my Nikon and flashes in hand.
Not particularly fond of uniforms, I assumed my role with respect, pride and total integrity, but also with great pleasure, integrated into a world on the move.
The icing on the cake was that I photographed four Olympic Games, both summer and winter, with great happiness. The work of the media at the Olympic Games is every bit as demanding as that of the athletes.
