My first time at the Olympic Games – not as an athlete, but as an IOC photographer with a dream accreditation for the 1988 Seoul Games. I was able to choose my own vantage points and approach my work in direct contact with all the athletes, from the IOC President to the backstage cleaners, security staff and visitors from every continent.

This multinational approach to cutting-edge technology at every level inspired me to collect a variety of items related to the rings; for example, as the highlight of my Olympic series, this intriguing little Samsung box placed on every seat at the opening ceremony of these Olympic Games, measuring 8 by 12 cm and 1.5 cm thick.
En fait destinée à diffuser les informations à chacun discrètement par les oreilletes, huit langues à choix, durant la cérémonie. N’oublions pas la date 1988, la Corée se développait en tous sens, les marques de voitures qui ne sillonnaient pas encore l’Europe fourmillaient.
It was actually designed to discreetly relay information to everyone via earpieces, with a choice of eight languages, during the ceremony. Let’s not forget the year 1988: Korea was developing in all directions, and car brands that hadn’t yet made their mark in Europe were springing up everywhere.
